Creating awareness and providing support for Young Adults with cancer.
HHH FOUNDATION AT A GLANCE
The Hugh Howard Housen Memorial Foundation is a not for profit corporation that was founded in the memory of Hugh in 2005.
Family and friends created the foundation with the mission to create awareness and provide support for young adults with cancer. All of our effort goes towards fundraising to support this mission.
Our activities include, but are not limited to, annual cancer awareness events, backpacks for cancer patients, donations to Adolescent and Young Adult Programs in Portland, OR.
Brandon Hayes-Lattin, M.D., medical director at OHSU
“Young adults with cancer have unique needs. These needs range from accessing quality cancer treatment, to addressing fertility concerns, to managing complex psychosocial situations with caregivers, parents, peers, children, school and work. These backpacks are one way of showing our young adult cancer patients that we realize their needs are different from other age groups’ concerns. Plus, these packs are pretty cool.”
